Roll and Restore Workshop: Myofascial Release for the Upper and Lower Body

Learn how to give yourself a deep tissue massage in this workshop that will guide you on learning how to release the built up tension in your body. This two-part myofascial release workshop will be led by guest instructor Carol from My Yoga Essence Australia

Part 1: Roll+Restore: Myofascial Release Workshop (Upper Body Release)

Experience the magic of roll + restore using myofascial release therapy balls to target trigger points in the common areas in the upper body and release tension in the connective tissues/fascia.

This is a real treat for anyone who carries tension from desk-bound jobs, poor posture, long flights, stress, new mums, sports training, or has a limited range of motion in the shoulders and the upper part of the body. Myofascial release helps to hydrate the fascial (muscle) tissues, restore motion, enhance tissue strength, influence sensory nerves, eliminate pain, promote circulation, increase energy and most importantly improve performance and stay injury-free in sports and training.

During this 2-hour workshop, you will be guided on a journey to release tension in the common areas of the upper body (back, shoulders, arms, neck, and head) using a set of take-home Therapy Balls designed by MyYogaEssence. You will also receive workshop notes (bring a pen and a notepad if you like to take extra notes) that will give you an introduction to fascia, the importance of myofascial release, and the techniques you need to give yourself a deep tissue massage and to restore the fascia and build tissue resilience.

Open to everyone. No previous yoga experience is required. Wear something fitted to easily roll and restore for the upper body.

Part 2: Roll + Restore Myofascial Release Workshop (Lower Body Release)

Experience the magic of roll + restore using myofascial release therapy balls to target trigger points in the common areas in the lower body and release tension in the connective tissues/fascia.

This is a real treat for runners, cyclists, desk-bound jobs, long-haul flights, and anyone with tight, tired and sore legs and feet, or have limited range of motion in the hips and the lower part of the body. Myofascial release helps to hydrate the fascial (muscle) tissues, restore motion, enhance tissue strength, influence sensory nerves, eliminate pain, promote circulation, increase energy and most importantly improve performance and stay injury-free in sports and training.

During this 2-hour workshop, you will be guided on a journey to release tension in the common areas of the lower body (hips, hamstrings, quads, calves, and feet) using a set of take-home Therapy Balls designed by MyYogaEssence. You will also receive workshop notes (bring a pen and a notepad if you like to take extra notes) that will include a brief overview of the fascia and the techniques of myofascial release to give yourself a self-myofascial release. You can expect to feel more relaxed, restored, and mobile after this practical myofascial release workshop.

Open to everyone. No previous yoga experience is required. Wear something comfortable to easily roll and restore for the lower body.

About the facilitator

Carol Man

Founder of My Yoga Essence, an Intuitive Yoga Teacher & Therapist, Qigong Teacher, Meditation Teacher, and an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant

Carol is a Chinese-born Australian who loves to connect with nature’s energy and drop into a state of flow. She is passionate about empowering individuals to come home to wholeness with intuitive self-healing Qi practices through yoga, qigong, myofascial release, acupressure, and forest bathing (Shinrinyoku). Her teachings are rooted in Qi, life force energy that animates and nourishes the whole being. She believes Qi is the essence of life and when Qi circulates in the body and mind, it brings about optimal health and vitality. This is a thread in her teaching to others to connect with their own energy and live an empowered state of flow.  In 2019, Carol created and launched her own products to enhance the flow of Qi and energy, which are Therapy Balls and Jade Guasha for Myofascial Release.
